DESA Australia Pty Ltd officially became Essendon Football Club’s official Indigenous Community Programs Partner in May 2008.
DESA, together with the Essendon Football Club, strongly believes in making a difference to Indigenous communities and recognises the role football can play in enhancing the lives of Indigenous Australians. Therefore this great opportunity for DESA to partner with EFC who have the same views undoubtedly could not be passed up.
Our aim is to work together to continuously deliver a number of important programs well into the future. One of the key programs DESA has worked closely together with EFC is supporting the club’s fostership programs in the remote Wadeye and Tiwi Island communities in the Northern Territory. DESA has been helping in the set-up of remote communications systems in these remote communities, enabling EFC and other organisations to communicate regularly with the people in these communities.
We have embarked on our own direction of helping the Indigenous Community by employing Indigenous Teenagers into apprenticeships and traineeships.
This is managed by our Indigenous Coordinator, Arbup Ash Peters who is a proud Wurundjeri/ Yorta Yorta man and a direct descendent from the Correnderrk Mission.
